La nave Asgardiana in rotta verso la Terra viene ostacolata dalla Q-Ship, l'imponente nave spaziale di Thanos. Gli Asgardiani sono già stati decimati dai membri dell'Ordine Nero: Heimdall è accasciato a terra, Loki è tenuto sotto tiro da Proxima Media Nox e Thor si trova ai piedi di Thanos. Il Titano costringe Loki a una scelta: la vita del fratello o il Tesseract. Inizialmente esitante, Loki consegna la gemma a Thanos salvando la vita del fratello, mentre Hulk si scaglia ferocemente sul titano, venendo però sconfitto facilmente. Heimdall con le ultime forze riesce a salvare la vita a Banner, mandandolo sulla Terra, per poi essere ucciso con una pugnalata al petto. Loki, date le circostanze, offre il proprio aiuto a Thanos per invadere nuovamente la Terra, ma poco prima di stringere l'alleanza il dio dell'inganno tenta invano di uccidere Thanos. Loki viene così soffocato dalle stesse mani del titano, che infine incendia la nave asgardiana e si teletrasporta, con i membri dell'Ordine Nero, sulla Q-Ship. <br>Intanto, sulla Terra, Stephen Strange e Wong incontrano Banner, che li avverte dell'imminente pericolo. Contemporaneamente Tony Stark sta passeggiando con Pepper Potts, alla quale annuncia di volere un bambino. Stark viene raggiunto da Strange e Banner che lo mettono al corrente della situazione. Subito dopo arriva una delle navi satelliti circolari della Q-Ship, con Fauce d'Ebano, potente stregone dell'Ordine Nero, e il gigante Astro Nero. Si scatena una feroce battaglia, alla quale si aggiunge anche Peter Parker. A causa del trauma subito nello scontro con Thanos, Banner non riesce più a trasformarsi, rimanendo in disparte durante lo scontro. Alla fine Strange viene catturato e portato a bordo della nave nemica; Wong rimane di guardia al santuario di New York, mentre Banner tenterà di contattare Steve Rogers. Iron Man e Spider-Man si mettono all'inseguimento della nave di Fauce d'Ebano, sulla quale stanno torturando Doctor Strange per riuscire a ottenere la gemma; grazie all'intervento di Tony e Peter lo stregone viene sconfitto e Strange viene liberato. <br>Contemporaneamente agli eventi di New York, Wanda Maximoff e Visione sono a Edimburgo, dove si erano ritirati per avere un po' di pace ed iniziare una convivenza insieme. I due vengono attaccati da Proxima Media Nox e Gamma Corvi, membri dell'Ordine Nero, che tentano di rubare la Gemma della Mente. Grazie all'intervento di Captain America, Natasha Romanoff e Falcon, gli scagnozzi di Thanos sono costretti alla ritirata, ma Visione rimane ferito gravemente. Cap e i suoi si dirigono presso il quartier generale degli Avengers, dove si trovano anche Bruce Banner e War Machine. Successivamente si dirigono verso il Wakanda, dove Visione potrà ricevere cure speciali. <br>Nello spazio Thor viene raccolto dai Guardiani della Galassia, i quali vengono messi al corrente delle azioni di Thanos. I Guardiani si dividono: Thor, Rocket e Groot si dirigono a Nidavellir, uno dei Nove Regni, abitato dai Nani, costruttori delle più potenti armi asgardiane tra cui Mjolnir, mentre gli altri vanno a Ovunque per assicurarsi che il Collezionista abbia ancora al sicuro l'Aether, la Gemma della Realtà. Ma quando Peter Quill e i suoi arrivano, Thanos ha già ottenuto la gemma e torna sulla Q-Ship, rapendo Gamora. Anche Nebula si trova a bordo della navicella e viene torturata finché Gamora non rivela la posizione della Gemma dell'Anima. Thanos e Gamora giungono così su Vormir, il pianeta della Gemma dell'Anima, dove li accoglie Teschio Rosso, ritrovatosi lì dopo lo scontro con Capitan America. Teschio Rosso racconta di aver appreso molto riguardo le Gemme dell'Infinito, diventando il custode della Gemma dell'Anima, e rivela a Thanos che per ottenere la Gemma dovrà sacrificare l'anima di una persona amata; il titano, con le lacrime agli occhi, decide così di uccidere Gamora. <br>Stark, Parker e Strange raggiungono Titano, il pianeta natale di Thanos, dove ad accoglierli trovano parte dei Guardiani della Galassia, con i quali stabiliscono un'alleanza contro il titano elaborando un piano per batterlo prima che torni da Vormir. Doctor Strange in una delle sue meditazioni scopre che solo uno dei futuri possibili fra gli oltre quattordici milioni analizzati porterà gli Avengers alla vittoria. Intanto Cap e gli altri arrivano nel Wakanda dove si riuniscono a Bucky Barnes e T'Challa: Visione viene portato nel laboratorio di Shuri con l'intento di estrarre la Gemma dalla sua fronte per distruggerla e salvarlo dalla morte. Nel frattempo, su Nidavellir, Thor incontra Eitri, l'ultimo dei Nani rimasto in vita dopo il passaggio di Thanos, il quale ha costretto i Nani a forgiare il Guanto dell'Infinito per poi spegnere la stella che alimenta la fucina di Nidavellir, uccidendo tutti. Grazie alle sue abilità Thor riesce ad accendere nuovamente la stella e ciò permette a Eitri di forgiare una nuova arma: l'ascia Stormbreaker. <br>Nel Wakanda giungono le navi degli eserciti di Outriders guidati da Proxima Media Nox, Gamma Corvi e Astro Nero, mentre su Titano giunge Thanos che viene messo alle strette grazie alla collaborazione di tutti gli eroi. Mantis, grazie ai suoi poteri, percepisce il lutto di Thanos per la perdita della figlia e ciò porta Quill a perdere la ragione, il che manda a monte l'intero piano. Thanos, ripresosi, colpisce gravemente Tony Stark: a questo punto Strange propone un accordo al titano ovvero la vita di Tony per la Gemma del Tempo, sicuro di ciò che aveva visto durante la sua meditazione. <br>In Wakanda Okoye, Scarlet e la Vedova Nera sconfiggono Proxima Media Nox, Bruce Banner nell'armatura Hulkbuster si scontra con Astro Nero mentre Gamma Corvi è all'inseguimento di Visione, mentre Rogers, Falcon, M'Baku, War Machine, Bucky, Pantera Nera e i sopraggiunti Thor, Rocket e Groot se la vedono con gli Outriders. I due membri dell'Ordine Nero vengono sconfitti, ma subito dopo arriva Thanos. Wanda si trova a malincuore costretta a distruggere la Gemma della Mente, consapevole che questo ucciderà anche Visione, mentre gli altri Avengers tentano di rallentare invano Thanos; ma il titano, usando la Gemma del Tempo, ricompone Visione ed estrae facilmente la gemma, uccidendolo per la seconda volta e ottenendo anche l'ultima gemma. Thor, in uno scatto d'ira, si scaglia con la nuova arma su Thanos colpendolo violentemente al petto, ma non ottiene l'effetto sperato; il titano schiocca le dita ritrovandosi in un mondo deserto dove trova una piccola Gamora, a cui si rivolge chiamandola "figlia", e le dice di averlo fatto e che il prezzo è stato "tutto"; successivamente apre un portale e si ritira. Sembra che il peggio sia passato, ma in poco tempo Bucky, molti dei combattenti del Wakanda, T'Challa, Groot, Scarlet, Falcon, Mantis, Drax, Quill, Strange e Parker si dissolvono nel nulla. Thanos, che è quindi riuscito nel suo intento, si siede soddisfatto in una capanna ad ammirare l'alba. <br>Nella scena dopo i titoli di coda Maria Hill e Nick Fury sono in auto a New York, dove si iniziano a notare gli effetti dell'azione di Thanos che ha sterminato metà della vita nell'universo. Poco prima di scomparire con Hill, Fury riesce a inviare una richiesta d'aiuto a Captain Marvel.

When Thor is explaining to the Guardians of the Galaxy where they need to go to forge a weapon to kill Thanos, he pronounces the destination as "Nivadellir" instead of "Nidavellir". He says it wrong twice in that scene. Yet, In the third act if the film he correctly pronounces it as "Nidavellir". <br>------------------------<br><br>While on the Maw's spaceship, Tony Stark, Peter Parker and Dr. Strange's cape have a conversation. and for the entire scene Peter's hair is slicked back. During an intense exchange with Tony, Peter says "You can't be a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man if there's no neighborhood"; the camera cuts to a speechless Tony and then goes back to Peter, who now has a completely different hairstyle, featuring a fringe. His hair turns back up for the rest of the scene. <br>------------------------<br><br>The first time we see Tony Stark, he is walking with Pepper Potts in a park, discussing. Tony has a hoodie on his shoulders, its sleeves tied in a knot covering the miniature arc reactor on his chest. During their exchange, Pepper unties the knot to talk about the device on Tony's chest. Right after that, cutting from a three-quarters shot to a close up on Tony, the hoodie disappears and is nowhere to be seen for the remainder of the scene, up till the moment we are taken inside the Sanctum Sanctorum. <br>------------------------<br><br>Tony Stark's mustache changes as he is confronting Thanos on Titan. He says hes "gonna lose it" if Thanos throws another moon at him. In this shot, his mustache is dark and defined. After Thanos calls him by his name, in the very next shot his mustache has a lot more gray in it and is a bit thicker/unkempt. <br>------------------------<br><br>During the New York confrontation, when Ebony Maw strangles Dr. Strange and he falls down, he hits a cop car next to him. In the next scene, when Ebony Maw lifts the ground around Strange, the cop car is nowhere to be seen. <br>------------------------<br><br>After Groot makes a handle for Stormbreaker, it is shown falling to the ground with the sharp side on the right and the hammer side on the left. When it lifts off the ground to go to Thor, the head is reversed. <br>------------------------<br><br>When Tony Stark is deciding whether to call Steve Rogers or not from the Sanctum Sanctorum, the green screen used on set is seen reflected in the screen of Stark's flip phone. <br>------------------------<br><br>A person exposed to space does not instantly freeze. <br>------------------------<br><br>At one point, Tony refers to Peter as a millennial. Peter is 16 or 17 years old, firmly placing him in Generation Z. <br>------------------------<br><br>When Thor goes to Nidavellir, Eitri tells Thor he made the gauntlet for Thanos because Asgard neglected to protect them. Asgard was just destroyed prior to the first scene of the movie, and yet the gauntlet was shown at the end of Age of Ultron, which takes place years prior. However, recall that Loki had been ruling Asgard for four years (overlapping Age of Ultron), and had allowed the Nine Realms to fall into war and chaos without doing anything on his own part to protect them (as opposed to Odin always striving to protect his kingdom). Therefore, it seems certain that Eitri was referring to the time period of Loki's reign rather than that of Asgard's destruction - this maintains perfect continuity with the idea that Thanos acquired the Infinity Gauntlet during Age of Ultron's time. <br>------------------------<br><br>During a close-up of Black Panther, when he gives the order to open the shield, his suit has clearly visible seams on his shoulders, giving it away as a spandex costume. <br>------------------------<br><br>When Tony Stark first uses the nano tech to put on the Mark L armor he takes off his shades with his right hand. As the armor finishes you can see the shades disappear from his right hand. Fully formed his right hand is still holding the now non existent shades. <br>------------------------<br><br>The Mind Stone becomes much larger when Thanos removes it from Vision's head. When Ultron creates Vision, the Mind Stone is clearly smaller. <br>------------------------<br><br>When Rocket gives Thor the eyeball and the two are discussing it, Rocket is standing next to Thor in one shot but appears in the pilot's seat, fully seat-belted in the next shot, even though audio seems to indicate the conversation between the two is continuous. <br>------------------------<br><br>When Thanos turns back time after Scarlett witch has destroyed the mind stone and Vision is "revived", Scarlett witch tries to stop him while shouting. In the next shot you see Thanos hitting Scarlett witch with his right hand and you see him holding vision by his neck with his left. In the next shot you see Thanos reaching for vision and grabbing his neck. <br>------------------------<br><br>After Thanos is victorious, people throughout the universe disintegrate with their remains blowing away. This includes their clothing and anything else they are wearing. However, other inanimate objects survive, such as Fury's communication device after he sends a distress signal to Captain Marvel. <br>------------------------<br><br>
