In un mondo post apocalittico i pochi sopravvissuti rimasti devono far fronte comune a causa della fine del mondo provocata da un attacco chimico. Nina e Mark sono due sopravvissuti che cercano insieme di raggiungere Milwaukee, città dove vivono i genitori di Nina. Durante il viaggio i due si imbattono in molti pericoli, tra cui distinte gang criminali, psicopatici e sadici cannibali.
